As Abia State marked the third anniversary of the administration of His Excellency, Alex Otti, Hon. Mazi Ugochukwu Obi has described the governor’s emergence as a divine arrangement ordained by God for the restoration of the state.
Speaking after the interdenominational thanksgiving service held at the Umuahia Event Centre, Okpara Square, Hon. Obi said the remarkable transformation witnessed across Abia within three years is proof that God answered the prayers of the people by bringing Dr Alex Otti to leadership.
According to him, Abians suffered for many years under administrations that lacked direction, but God remembered His people and raised a leader with vision, compassion and fear of God to rebuild the state.
Hon. Obi stated that the atmosphere of worship, prayers and unity during the thanksgiving service clearly showed that the hand of God remains upon the present administration. He praised Governor Otti for openly acknowledging God in governance and for promising to build an ecumenical centre in Umuahia through private funding as a symbol of gratitude and dedication to God.
He further commended Christian leaders across denominations for standing in prayers for the peace and progress of Abia State, adding that spiritual support has played a major role in the stability currently being enjoyed.
Hon. Mazi Ugochukwu Obi expressed confidence that the same God who brought Dr Alex Otti into office in 2023 will preserve, strengthen and bring him back again in 2027 to continue the work of rebuilding Abia for future generations.
